Join the club
We are always on the lookout for new players to come and have a go.
The first two weeks of training are free so you can get a good idea of what inline hockey is all about. We believe that you should give it a least this long to see if you like it. Initially it can be quite difficult to skate, hold a stick and hit the puck whilst wearing body armour and a helmet. Give it some time and you will soon get the hang of it.
You do not need to be able to skate when you first start your trial but if you would like to learn before you start, our training rink is open regularly to the public. See My Skateworld’s website for their opening times. You will find the staff there are very helpful and very knowledgeable. Over two hours of skating for £7 is a bargain and you can hire skates for small additonal cost.
The club is available to anyone aged 4 and over. Starting to play inline hockey at a young age is brilliant but can be a bit daunting for some younger or less confident children. Different areas can be set up specifically to help younger children or those who are not as confident with skating. After some time learning the basic skills, they will soon be fully integrated into the teams training.
After the two weeks, you will be invited to join the club and then, when you are ready, become a team member.
Protective kit will be provided for the two-week free trial and if you decide to join the club, this kit can be used until you buy your own. We recommend that you should have your own full kit between 6-12 months after joining. Please bring your own inline skates to the training sessions
Take a look at the 'Equipment' page to find out what kit is needed.
If you would like to attend a two-week free trial, please enter your details below and come along to a Sunday session where you will meet one of our coaches, who will get you started. Please add the preferred Sunday you would like to start, and someone will be in contact with you to confirm this date.
The Sunday sessions are for our under 8 and under 10 teams but are also designed to have a look at your skating ability with a view to deciding which session is best for you.
Please see the ‘Training Times’ page for full details on all training sessions.
Volunteers
We are always looking for volunteers to help with the running of the club. This can be anything from being an active player, coaching and officiating to helping with admin roles, organising team events or helping spread the word about the club. If you can volunteer some of your time to help, please fill in the form below and someone will be in contact with you.
Please fully complete this contact form as address and contact details are required for our insurance when attending our training sessions.
PLEASE NOTE if you are applying on behalf of a child, please put your name and your relationship to them in the notes section.
